Free activities included when using your ski plus pass you can use the outdoor swimming pool, play table tennis in the Palais de Sports centre.
Also free is the sledging areas which are located in Les Bergers and under the Grande Rousses DMC Gondola lift during the daytimes. As well as night sledging on the Butte de l'Eclose slope on a Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5pm. Without a ski plus pass these activities are chargable.
If you fancy taking the family Ice skating the admission is 6euro for adults and 3euro per child(under 13) skate hire is an extra 4 euro.The ice skating rink is open from 11.30am - 11pm. The Ice rink shuts early if hosting other events such as ice hockey matches and ice karting.
Ice karting takes place on a monday from 7.30pm and a thursday from 7pm both nights until midnight.
The swimming pools without a ski plus pass are charged at 8 euro per adult and 5 euro per child under 13 years. The outdoor pool is open 10am - 8pm and the indoor pool is open 10 - 8pm. No swimming shorts are allowed all males must wear swimming trunks ( which are available to hire if you really want to swim)
Climbing walls for the daredevils among you all from 6 yrs old upwards can be found in the Palais de Sports centre. This activity takes place at many different times during the week. More information can be found in the centre itself as times change frequently during the season. There is also a charge for this.
The Ice Caves is another favourite with families here in resort. Each year it is based on a different theme! The ice cave was dug into the snow by two high mountain guides. The ice caves are situated at 2.700 m and are accessible via the Grandes Rousses DMC lift. The prices are adults 4.50 euros and child 3.50 euros. Access to both 2700 plus admission to ice caves if you don't have a ski pass is adults 15 euro and child 9.50 euro.
Husky Dog Rides are a great experience when visiting the Alps. They are available for both 30 min or 1 hr session.
The prices are adults 32 euros or 55 euros for 1 hr. Children(under 12) 22 euros or 40 euros for 1 hr. Booking is recommended for this at least 48hrs in advance to ensure availability
The Cinema over here in Alpe D'Huez shows some English films in the Cinema Le Signal which is near the old town down from the Tourist information centre.
There are a lot of restaurants which are family friendly. A few to name are Pinocchios, La Taverne, Au Trappeur.
Most bars will accept children especially during apres ski hours.
